We have 2 childcare rooms –
Nursery 1 cares for children 2-3 years
Nursery 2 cares for children 3-5 years
Children at Little Owls Parklands enjoy quality provision and exciting activities set up on a free flow basis, both inside and outside, for each individual age and stage of development.
Outdoor play is an important part of our provision. Each childcare room has access to outdoor provision throughout the day in their own private, secure gardens. Children are encouraged to access the garden areas which has a variety of resources to support children’s physical development and encourage exploration, discovery and curiosity. As part of our outdoor learning, children are given the opportunity to plant flowers, herbs and vegetables and are encouraged to look after them. There are also quiet, comfy, cosy areas for children to relax and maybe sleep, following home routines.
We are proud of our robust Key Person system which ensures children’s well-being is firmly embedded through the importance of learning through play. Weekly planning ensures focused learning experiences are planned in response to children’s interests and develop key skills and knowledge throughout their time with us in nursery.
Tapestry the electronic journal is used to support children’s learning and is a valuable tool to engage parents in their children’s learning.
‘Tapestry is so easy to use and I get a little a kick when I see there’s a new post. Seeing that something as simple as play is part of his development is a real reassurance to a SEN parent, you can literally see where the progress is’. Parent
