Little Owls Middleton (over 3’s) is rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted.
We are based within the grounds of Middleton Primary School which sits in the centre of Middleton.
We pride ourselves on our exciting and innovative continuous provision, and our involvement with outside companies, to ensure that children receive a broad range of learning experiences. Opera North, Northern Ballet and Ian’s Mobile Farm have all come into the centre to carry out projects with the children and staff, and this has had a positive impact on children’s learning.
At Little Owls Middleton we are working with parents and carers to create lifelong learners. We recognise that parents are the primary influence on their child’s early learning and value their involvement by holding regular parent workshops and meetings. We also actively encourage parents to add to their child’s learning journals, sharing their experiences from home.
SEND Offer
We have an experienced Senco (special educational needs coordinator) who coordinates additional funding and provision for any child who may require it, in order to enjoy and achieve to their full potential. She has completed tiers 1-3 autism training along with training on intensive interaction and visual timetables, which are used regularly with some of our children.
The centre is fully accessible and all on ground level.
Here is what Ofsted says about us:
“Teaching is consistently strong with some outstanding elements. Managers monitor children’s progress very well. They analyse data and plan interventions which are targeted towards areas children most need support in. All children make good progress and any gaps in their learning are closing quickly.” – Ofsted
“Children are confident and move freely between the stimulating indoor and outdoor environments. The strong key-person system helps children to build secure relationships with attentive and caring staff.” – Ofsted
