Little Owls Hawksworth Wood provides a warm, caring, stimulating environment in which children become confident and expressive learners. Our highly trained staff are supported by qualified teachers offering Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum support, as well as in-house lead practitioners in subjects such as maths, language and communication.
Learning and activities
Children enjoy exciting and challenging activities during free play and led sessions in small groups, including baking for older children. Educational activities boost children’s communication and language development, and we offer individual support plans for children with specific needs.
Keeping in touch
The team at the Little Owls Hawksworth Wood, work hard to ensure that parents and carers feel listened to and valued. Each child has a Key Worker and a significant other, who know the child well and are the main points of contact for families.
We keep in touch with parents throughout the day using the free Tapestry app, an online journal sharing your child’s key moments – from lunch to photos of activities and detailed observations of their learning and progress. Tracking your child’s progress is important to our team. Our latest Ofsted report noted that the staff at Little Owls have an excellent understanding of where children are in their development.
SEND support
Our team is very experienced in working with children with varied needs. Visit our SEND page to find out how we can support your child.
