Little Owls Armley Chapel Lane nursery provides exciting experiences for children, from den making to Forest Schools activities, chick hatching and workshops.
We have good relationships with local primary schools, which help to provide a smooth transition into school for children and their families.
We are a breastfeeding friendly setting, and part of the Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI). The nursery also has MindMate accreditation.
The setting also benefits from the co-location of the family support team. The team offers groups and activities for families alongside individual work that might include support with housing, finances, employment, child development, adult learning and healthy lifestyles.
Our special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCO) ensures that wherever a child has an additional need families are fully supported. Staff provide children with individually tailored support and develop effective partnerships with a wide range of professionals.
All the staff are trained in Autism Tier 2.
“Staff create an extremely inclusive environment where they respect diversity well. Children are valued as unique individuals.
“The nursery has strong partnership with families which results in effective partnership working with parents and carers to meet children’s individual needs.
“All children, including those who speak English as an additional language make good or better progress in their learning.
“Care and education are of a high standard and the nursery indoor and outdoor play areas provide quality spaces for children to learn and explore.
The nursery provides exciting experiences for children such as den making, Forest Schools activities, chick hatching and workshops.”
